Mountain Warrior is a name Shane has adopted from his heritage and homeland of Tiniroto and the East Coast of the north island.

The logo, when combined, forms the letter 'S' for Shane with the upper half representing the letter 'M' for Mountain, which has been designed as a mountain peak. The lower half is the antipodes of the upper and forms the letter 'W' for Warrior.

The tattoo on Shane's shoulder has been incorporated into the W to represent his iwi - Rongomaiwahine, Mahia
